Middle schoolers have one more chance to party at the pool before
school starts |
The Chehalem Aquatic
and Fitness Center will host a middle school pool party from 8:30 to
10:30 p.m. Aug. 17. The activity will be limited to middle school
students only and ID will be checked at the door. Students without
ID can have their parents vouch for them.
Students attending the event can use the whole pool — the slide,
the diving board, the rope swing, the basketball hoop and the hot
tub — while listening to pop tunes.
Students should bring their own flotation toys and air mattresses.
The pool’s own mats and noodles will also be made available. The
Chehalem Aquatic Center is located at 1802 Haworth Avenue.
The cost of the event is $4 and must be paid at the door. There
will be lifeguards on duty.
There is a last chance for summer swim lessons in the three weeks
of summer remaining. There is a two-week session starting Monday.
The classes are 30 minutes long and take place during the days and
evenings. A one week session will start Aug. 27. Small group or
regular group format is available for all ages and skill levels.
Those interested should enroll in person, by phone or on-line. The
instructors are certified by the Red Cross. Cost ranges from $38 to
$56.
