The wind across the Columbia once again hit
the water of the pool at the Ted Walker Invitational in the Dalles

13-15 at the 59th annual competition.

medals and two silvers. Taylor won the 200 individual medley

him a new state “A” time. Aldred also placed second in the 200 IM
(3:02.15).
Silver medals also went to Hannah Miller, 15, for her 200 IM

placed second in the 50 breaststroke (46.69) and David Flores
Juarez, 10, had a pair of second-place finishes — one in the 50

Charlotte Abramson, also 10, placed third in the 50 freestyle

The girls relay squad of Bush, Mays, Anderson and Anjel Urciel, 12,
won gold in the 200 medley (2:38.52) and in the 200 freestyle

In competition July 7 at Mount Hood Community College, Bush and
Taylor both placed third — Bush in the 400 freestyle (5:15.29) and
Taylor in the 200 freestyle (2:26.60). Miles Abramson, 8, swam in
his first competition ever and scored an “A” time in the 50
backstroke (56.94) in the 8-and-under bracket. He turned 9 two days
later so could not swim the event at state.
The Sharks are back in the water at Mount Hood Community College
later this month for the Speedo Oregon State Swim Championships. |
