Unitarian service Sunday
McMINNVILLE — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will hold a
service from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at 619 N.E. Third St. For more

Clothing drive successful
Newberg Christian Church completed a clothing drive that served
several populations in the community. The church congregation was
asked to donate clothing to be given away to the needy. Children’s
clothing was available at the Joan Austin Elementary School
back-to-school night Aug. 30. Children and adult clothing were
available to the community in conjunction with Sept. 6’s Community
Kitchen. The members of the Hispanic church A Nueva Amanacer were
able to choose clothing after their Sept. 8 service. All remaining
clothes will be shipped to an orphanage in Iraq.
Christmas Cantata Choir recruiting
YAMHILL — The 2007 Community Christmas Cantata Choir will begin
rehearsals at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at St. John Catholic Church, 445 North
Maple Street. Rehearsals will be Monday evenings and some Saturday
mornings through Nov. 26. Performances will be between Nov. 26 and
Dec. 22 throughout the area.
The group will perform “Unspeakable Joy,” a new collection of
praise, worship and celebration music appropriate to the Advent and
Christmas seasons in a 60-minute program blending a narration with
traditional Christian music.
