3-20 Letters to the Editor

   To the editor:   What started out as a small effort to teach a lesson in giving to help Haiti and to further our math lessons in counting coins, turned into a big lesson in compassion and community.   Our second-grade class raised $148 by collecting coins for a two-week period. They did this through working small jobs at home, searching the couch cushions and raiding piggy banks.
