Plant’s air pollution permit faces changes

DEQ expects a decrease in many pollutants, a reflection of plant phasing out old boilers

If approved, a new DEQ permit for SP Fiber Technologies will recognize an annual reduction of a list of the plant’s pollutants, including particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and volatile organic compounds.
   SP Fiber Technologies Northwest will see some changes in the Department of Environmental Quality permit that allows it to operate its plant in Newberg and the DEQ is seeking input from local residents.
