Over more than a century a mill has stood in Newberg on the banks of the Willamette River. That mill will now be called SP Fiber Technologies, but will still be responsible for creating paper products.
A deal transferring the assets of SP Newsprint to a new company was finalized last week, but the story’s not yet over for local unionized workers concerned about the state of their pensions or contractors who claim they’re still owed for past work.
