Dallin Esmond is one of six returning starters expected to contribute on the Tiger defense this season.
   Following a frustrating campaign that saw a lack of scoring punch help drop Newberg from third place in the Pacific Conference in 2010 down to seventh, the Tigers are poised to assert themselves as contenders for an automatic playoff spot this fall.
