History revisited: Columbus Day storm especially hard on Newberg

50 years, later the extent of the devastation is still impressive

An Oct. 28, 1962, edition of The Newberg Graphic showed some of the devastation sustained by the town during the Columbus Day Storm.
   It’s often said that animals have a special sense about them, instincts that let them know something bad is about to happen.
