Newberg freshman Tori Eichten shot rounds of 96 and 87 to place in a tie for 37th out of 76 players at the 6A state championship Monday and Tuesday at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis. Eichten tied for the ninth-biggest improvement overall between rounds and her drop was tied for fourth-best among the top-60 finishers.
CORVALLIS — Newberg’s Tori Eichten was more bothered by the strong winds Monday at Trysting Tree Golf Course than the pressure of playing in the 6A state tournament for the first time.
