Hostetler fifth, but London bound

Former Oregon and NHS star sputters in the javelin finals but still earns a spot on the U.S. Olympic team

Mixed emotions –
Cyrus Hostetler finished a disappointing fifth at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Monday in Eugene, but because the Newberg High School grad had already hit the Olympic ‘A’ standard, he made the U.S. team and will compete in London. ‘It’s the bittersweet way of going,’ he said.
   This was not how Cyrus Hostetler dreamed he would qualify for the Olympics.    There was no big throw, no roar from the crowd and no moment in the spotlight atop the podium at the U.
