Newberg saw an ever-so-slight increase in new residential building in 2011, according to figures released last week by the city, but with residential remodels at not quite two-thirds of the prior year’s level and commercial building dropping by another 26 percent and nearly $1 million in value, the city’s construction activity continued its harsh decline.
