The 198-2 Rachel Yurkovich threw July 1 in Canada was 12 inches more than her previous personal best and easily surpassed the ‘B Standard’ 193-7 necessary to qualify for the world championships.
Newberg High School graduate Rachel Yurkovich set a lifetime best in the javelin July 1 at a meet in Canada and, in doing so, secured a spot on the United States team going to the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) world championships in South Korea in late August.
