Johnson’s will seek historic landmark status

Downtown business — Rezone could settle sign code dispute with the city planning department

The building that now houses Johnson’s Furniture, built in 1910, was listed by Newberg city staff on a 1990 inventory of historic sites, but as a ‘secondary resource’ — important, but not architecturally unique or of great historic significance.
   Owners of the Johnson’s Furniture building on First Street have applied for local historic landmark status.
