Ursula Bacon speaks to students, faculty and members of the public Wednesday evening on her experiences fleeing the Nazis during World War II and spending the bulk of the war at a displaced persons camp in Shanghai, China.
   “It was a long time ago, but it left an indelible mark on the world.”   That was memoirist and Wilsonville resident Ursula Bacon’s summation of Adolf Hitler’s rise to power — an event that sent Jewish families like hers fleeing their native Germany, and the less fortunate to their deaths.
