Lee W. Anderson
   Lee William Anderson of Newberg died Jan. 19, 2010. He was 75.
   He was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Ainsworth, Neb., to Orville and Fern (Fitzgerald) Anderson. He served in the U.S. Army in a specialized unit who used mules and as a clerk.
   He moved from Nebraska to Colorado before settling in the Newberg area in 1970. He sold insurance and worked as a salesman for Newberg Ford for several years. He was also a farrier and broke horses. He rode in the St. Paul and Newberg parades for many years and enjoyed the outdoors.
   Survivors include: his friend Betty Johnson of Newberg; sisters, Ida Anderson and Rutha May Blundel, both of Nebraska, and Iva Marie Holtz of Iowa; and brother Andy Anderson of Indiana.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Luella Marshall and Verna Barela and brothers Alvin and Ellis.
   A funeral service will be held at 2:30 today (Saturday) at Attrell’s Newberg Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gene Hockett officiating. Private interment will take place at Valley View Memorial Park.

Arthur Jette
   Arthur “Buzz” Jette, formerly of Newberg, died Jan. 24, 2010, in Yuma, Ariz. He was 97.
   He was born April 5, 1912, to Arthur and Bertha Mae (Engle) Jette. He did farm work, ran a small sawmill with his family and worked in construction. He married Phyllis Knowles in 1940.
   Survivors include: sons, Arthur of Condon and John of New Guinea; daughters, Barbara Lee of McMinnville and Kathleen Brown of Vancouver, Wash.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   A private family service will be held.
