Wedding Announcements

Sept. 19, 2007
Gallipeau
   Kaylee Schaad and Wayne Gallipeau were married Aug. 25 at the River Street Church of God in Newberg. The ceremony was performed by retired minister Ron Palmer and attended by 150 guests.
   The bride’s grandfather, Bill Piatt, gave her away. She wore a satin empire style gown with scoop neckline and a large bow on the back, satin ribbons and bead adorned the empire waist capped sleeves and hemline, including the train. The veil was clipped to the bride’s head and flowed the full length of the train.
   Flowers were calla lilies, white carnations, purple roses and baby’s breath.
   The bride’s maid of honor was Amanda Whiteley, who wore a silver floor length dress. The bridesmaids included Kristina Pinard, Brittany Gentle and Kammi Schaad. They wore lavender floor length dresses.  The flower girl was Taylee Pierce and the ringbearer was Ky Schaad.
   The best man was Sean Owens. Groomsmen were Dwight Gallipeau, Tony Baldwin and Justin Vanmeter.
   The bride is a 2004 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed as a materials clerk at A-dec Inc. Her parents are Kelly and Gary McGrew Jr. of Newberg.
   The groom is a 2004 graduate of NHS and is employed as a fabricator at Meyer Sign Company or Oregon. His parents are Gary and Kolleen Gallipeau of Boise and the late Bonnie Gallipeau.
   The reception was held at the Crestview Estates Clubhouse. The couple went on a weeklong honeymoon to Disneyland.

Aug. 1, 2007
Platt
   Katrina Brady and Gordon Platt, both of Laie, Oahu, Hawaii, were married June 30 at the Latter-Day Saints Temple in Lake Oswego. President Nic Collins officiated.
   The bride carried a bouquet of white roses with pink lilies.
   The reception, a “luau” theme, will be held Aug. 11 at the Newberg Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Maid of honor was Tessa Brady. Bridesmaids were Erica and Emily Brady.
   Best man was Briant Platt. Groomsmen were Kevin Brady and Tyler Brady.
   The bride is the daughter of John and Shelly Brady of Gresham. She graduated from Centennial High School in 2005 and is a junior at Brigham Young University in Hawaii, majoring in elementary education. She works in the campus library.
   The groom is the son of Gene and Arlene Platt of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 2003 and is a junior at BYU-Hawaii, majoring in history. He works in the campus library as well.
   For their honeymoon, the couple plan to take an Alaska cruise.

Harvey
   Angela Luce and Jamie Harvey, both of Newberg, were married March 12, 2007, during an afternoon ceremony officiated by the Rev. Maureen Haley and attended by about 30 guests.
   The bride, given away by her father, Ken Luce, wore a veil made by her mother and carried a bouquet of white roses.
   A reception was held in Newberg following the wedding.
   The bride is the daughter of Ken and Letty Luce of Newberg. The groom’s parents are Rodney and Sue Miller of Brooks.

March 7, 2007
Wilson
   Lauren Hales and Mike Wilson, both of Stockton, Calif., were married Aug. 1, 2006, in an outdoor ceremony in Stockton. The Rev. Roy Barnhart presided.
   The afternoon wedding was attended by 75 family members and friends and was decorated in blue, brown and pink with many flowers.
   The reception was held at the home of the groom, and was decorated in the same theme as the wedding.
   The bride was given away by her father, Mike Hales. She wore a simple, elegant long white dress and carried pink roses, calla lilies and gerbera daisies.
   Maid of honor was Brianne Hales of Newberg. Bridesmaid was Sara Blackburn of Newberg. They wore brown skirts and light pink crew neck shirts.
   Best man was Roy Wilson of Stockton. Groomsman was Spencer Hales of Newberg.
    Flowergirls we Delia Davis and Lucy and Katie English. Ringbearers were Jakob and Jerrett Gamboa.
   The bride is the daughter of Mike and Barbara Hales of Newberg. She is employed at UPS.
   The groom is the son of Roy and Lori Wilson of Stockton. He is employed at Les Schwab.
   The couple met right out of high school through a friend and have made their home in a cottage in North Stockton.

Feb. 7, 2007
Cadotte
   Melissa Barnhart and Andy Cadotte of Corvallis, were married Aug. 12, 2006, at Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. The Rev. Shelece Thomas presided.
   The evening wedding was attended by 80 friends and family members. The wedding was held during a sunset ceremony on the beach and hanging lanterns lined the aisle. A cellist provided the music.
   The wine and dessert buffet reception was held in the Cannon Beach Community Hall and decorations included an exposed wooden beam ceiling, a large stone fireplace, French doors, lanterns with lit candles on the tables and small tin buckets filled with saltwater taffy. The wedding cake was pale blue with white chocolate shells and starfish cascading down the sides and on the top.
   The bride was given away by her father Michael Barnhart. She wore a sleeveless ivory silk sheath by Jim Hjelm, with a lace overlay and an ivory satin ribbon. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses and blue hydrangeas and wore a simple, floor-length veil.
   Maid of honor was Kirstie Cortines of Salem. Bridesmaids were Lindsay Smith of Bend, Jesse Cote of Corvallis and Val Cadotte of Newberg. They wore black, tea-length dresses and carried bouquets of bright blue hydrangeas.
   Best man was Matt Sacks of Rhododendron, Ore. Groomsmen were Chris Barnhart of Milton-Freewater, Joel Bjorgeson and Matt Revelle, both of Corvallis.
Ringbearers were Joseph and William Barnhart of Newberg and Spencer and Ethan Cortines of Salem.
   The bride is the daughter of Michael and Linda Barnhart of Dundee. She is a 2001 Newberg High School graduate and she graduated from Oregon State University in 2006 with a masters degree in education. She is an employee of the Corvallis School District as an English teacher.
   The groom is the son of Dolores and Rick Cadotte of Newberg. He is a 2000 NHS graduate and attends Linn-Benton Community College. He is employed at Winco Foods in Corvallis.
   The couple honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and have made their home in Corvallis.

Jan. 31, 2007
Johnson

   Jessica Wise of Newberg and Shane Johnson of Tualatin were married Jan. 4, 2007, in the atrium of the Crowne Plaza Motel in Lake Oswego. The Rev. Maureen Haley presided.
   The afternoon wedding was attended by 120 friends and family members. Carianne Quinby of Newberg served as vocalist and pianist at the ceremony and Kevin Venables of Mobile Music Entertainment performed during the dinner reception. The reception was held in the Crowne Plaza ballroom.
   The bride was given away by her father, George Wise. She wore a princess strapless white satin corset gown with a pickup skirt and brooch at the waist.
   Maid of honor was Maija Teppola of Newberg. Bridesmaid was Amy Colton of Clackamas. They wore olive green, strapless, flat taffeta, bubble hem gowns with a matching sash. They carried bouquets of white roses.
   Best man was Michael Shirley of Dundee. Groomsman was Ryan Colton of Clackamas.
   The bride is the daughter of George and Jamie Wise of Newberg. She is a 2006 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at Stay and Play Pet Resort in Grand Forks, N.D.
   The groom is the son of Kathy Johnson of Tualatin and Troy Johnson of Myrtle Creek. He graduated in 2005 from the Oregon Youth Challenge Program in Bend, and from basic military training in Lackland, Texas. He is employed by the United State Air Force in Grand Forks.
   The couple met at NHS and have made their home in Grand Forks.

Dec. 13, 2006
Gonzalez

   Melissa Boeckman of Newberg and Jesus Gonzalez of Sherwood were married on Nov. 4, 2006, at the Newberg Christian Church. Pastor David Case presided.
   The afternoon wedding was attended by 150 friends and family members. The church was decorated with tulle and large red gerbera daisies at the ends of the pews and included an aisle runner with red and white petals on each side. Emily Lewis sang “From This Moment On,” a Shania Twain song.
   The reception, also held at the church, featured an elaborate Hostess DingDong cake covered with cherry pie filling.
   The bride was given away by her father, Bruce Boeckman.
She wore a white, strapless dress with a beaded bodice and beads along the chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of dark red gerbera daisies and white beads.
   Maid of honor was Emily Lewis of Newberg. Bridesmaids were Wendy Botsford of Newberg, Kylie Osterhoudt of Gladstone and Michelle May of Ontario. They wore red, strapless dresses with beading along the top. Bouquets were white gerbera daises.
   Best man was Oscar Gonzalez of Tualatin. Groomsmen were Travis, Jeremy and Jonathan Morgan, all of Sherwood.
   Flowergirl was Faith Van Horn. She carried a bouquet of three dark red gerbera daisies. Her dress was white and her hair was tied in French braids with ribbon at the ends. Ringbearer was Angel Gonzalez. His white tuxedo matched the groom’s.
   Ushers were Jeremy Scholz of Newberg and Tim Hohnbaum of Sherwood.
   The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Sharon Boeckman of Newberg.
   The groom is the son of Oscar and Angelina Gonzalez of Sherwood.
   They honeymooned on a cruise to southern California and Mexico and have made their home in Newberg. The couple met through a mutual friend.

Nov. 29, 2006
Tuning

   Amy Harris and Joel Tuning, both formerly of Newberg, were married on July 22, 2006, at the Madras Christian Church in Madras. Pastor Ron Mulkey presided.
   The afternoon wedding was attended by 250 family members and friends. The church was decorated with yellow roses and yellow and white daisies. Pianist was Kayla Reid, guitarist was Andy Harrer, and Abby Harris and Travis Morgan sang “The Prayer.”
   The reception was held at the Metolius Friends Church in Metolius. The couple were driven to the reception in an antique Jefferson County fire truck.
   The bride was given away by her father, Doug Harris.
   She wore a pale ivory chantal satin strapless gown, as well as a pearl necklace and bracelet made by the aunt of the bride. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white roses and white carnations and daisies, as well as fern and baby’s breath.
   Maid of honor was Katie Harris. Bridesmaids were Anna Herring Shaw, Dorothy Cardin, Karena Schutt, Chelsea Tuning and Kayla Morgan. They wore butternut-hued, knee-length, halter top dresses and carried yellow roses, baby’s breath and fern.
   Bestman was Chris Niehus. Groomsmen were Chad Harvey, Nic Siewert, Jeff Benson, Andrew Harris and Devin Tuning.
   Flowergirl was Lia Reid. Ringbearer was Joseph Hill. Unity sand carriers were Tanya, Irina and Yulia Tuning. They carried green and yellow sand in bud vases. The bride and groom combined them into one vase to symbolize being united.
   The bride is the daughter of Doug and Sarah Harris of Madras. She graduated from Madras High School in 2002 and from George Fox University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a minor in social work. She is employed by June Elementary School in Kotzebue, Alaska, as a second-grade teacher.
   The groom is the son of Ron and Lori Tuning of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 2001 and Chemeketa Community College in 2005 with a degree in fire science. He is employed by the Kotzebue Fire Department.
   The couple honeymooned in Sunriver and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They have made their home in Kotzebue.

Nov. 22, 2006
Raber

   Nicole Kirkbride and Eric Raber of Newberg were married Aug. 5, 2006, in the Newberg Church of God. The Rev. William Larson presided.
   The early afternoon wedding was attended by 125 people. The church was decorated with peach and teal ribbons and bows, white candles and peach and teal flowers. Pianist was Janet Lyda. Music was the Unity Candlelighting Song and “Our Love is Unconditional” by George Strait.
   The reception was held at the church and decorations  included white candles and tablecloths and bud vases with white, peach and teal carnations.
   The bride was given away by her stepfather, Tom Knoch.
   She wore a white, empire waist gown with beading around the bust and hem. The veil was attached to a headpiece of white flowers and featured two layers falling toward the waist of the gown. She carried peach and teal carnations and miniature roses.
   Matron of honor was Lindy Schweiger of Salem. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Yazzalino of Beaverton and Melissa Ladd of Salem. They wore A-line, Oasis colored, halter-style dresses and carried peach and teal carnations.
   Best man was Eric Morrison of Newberg. Groomsmen were Ryan Goodman of Newberg and Justin Kirkbride of Gresham.
   Flowergirl was Bella Yazzalino and ringbearer was Lucy Yazzalino, both of Beaverton.
Candlelighters were DeVonne Knoch and Nancy Raber. Ushers were Justin Kirkbride and Ryan Goodman.
   The bride is the daughter of Tom and DeVonne Knoch of Newberg. She is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School and is employed at Newberg Ford.
   The groom is the son of Warren and Nancy Raber of Newberg. He is a graduate of Aloha High School and he and the bride own Extreme Cycle.
   The couple honeymooned in Jamaica, the Grand Cayman Islands and Cozumel. They have made their home in Newberg.

Nov. 15, 2006
Sahagian

   Carol Swehla and Richard Sahagian of Newberg were married Oct. 14, 2006, at Newberg First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Peter Blank presided.
   The early afternoon wedding was attended by 140 family members and friends. The church was decorated with blue and white bows on the pews and multicolored flowers at the altar. Music was provided by Pat Goodman on the organ and piano, Suellen Lacey sang and played flute, and Aletha McKennon was harpist.
   The reception was held in the church fellowship hall, which was decorated with multicolored pastel tablecloths, African violets and multicolored bouquets.
   The bride was escorted down the aisle by her son, Eric Swehla. She wore an ivory silk, two-piece dress with long, lace sleeves and a full skirt. She carried a bouquet of white roses and blue silk flowers with blue and white ribbons and wore blue silk flowers in her hair.
    Matron of honor was Doris Swehla of Spokane. Bridesmaid was Kaia Range of Portland. They wore blue and white dresses and carried bouquets of multicolored flowers.
Best man was Michael Sahagian. Groomsman was David Sahagian.
   Candlelighters were Cedar and Sage Albright. Ushers were Kevin and Steven O’Herin and Nigel Swehla.
   The bride and groom are retired employees of the Beaverton School District. They honeymooned at the Oregon coast and have made their home in Hillsboro.

Nov. 8, 2006
Mathies
   Aubrei Taennler of Wilsonville and Keith Mathies of Aurora were married Sept. 2, 2006, in a rose garden at the home of Ed and Jeanne Gaylord. Pastor Doug Adams presided.
   The afternoon event was attended by 200 friends and family members and was decorated with white calla lilies and burgundy roses. Music was provided by soloists Dorcas Smith and Elyse Taennler. Dick Elliott, the bride’s band director at Newberg High School, played trumpet for the bridal processional and recessional. Jonathan Swanson of Instep Music of McMinnville provided keyboard for the ceremony.
   The reception was held in the bride’s parent’s home and was decorated with twisted willow filled Longaberger basket vases and bouquets of white calla lilies with accents of burgundy and black. Each table held a candle centerpiece and black framed photo of the couple. A single white calla lily was placed on an empty chair in memory of the bride’s grandmother, Jo Taennler.
   The bride was given away by father, Bill Taennler.
   She wore an ivory satin halter-style gown with whimsical beading and embroidery that continues along the chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of miniature white calla lilies and burgundy roses. She wore her grandmother’s diamond earrings and carried her Grandmother Gaylord’s wedding handkerchief, also carried by her mother at her wedding 25 years earlier.
   Maid of honor was Elyse Taennler of Wilsonville. Bridesmaid was Caity Farrington of Newberg. They wore long, black crepe skirts and beaded and sequined burgundy halter tops. Each carried a single white calla lily. They also wore custom designed jewelry by Debbie Foushee of Newberg.
   Best man was Matt Fobert of Aurora. Groomsman was Daniel Mathies of Aurora.
   Flowergirl was Emily Weiler. Ringbearers were Alex and Matthew Weiler.
   The bride is the daughter of Bill and Maribeth Taennler of Wilsonville. She is a 2004 graduate of NHS and attends Pioneer Pacific College in Wilsonville with plans to attain an associate degree in accounting. She is employed at Lumbermen’s in Newberg.
   The groom is the son of Michael and Sharon Mathies of Aurora. He is a 2003 graduate of North Marion High School. He is employed at Naturescaping in Scotts Mills.
   The couple honeymooned at Odell Lake in Central Oregon and have made their home in Woodburn.
   They met at a church youth group.

Nov. 1, 2006
Holboke

   Debbie David of Portland and Jay Holboke of Beaverton, were married Aug. 12, 2006, at a private canyon area in their new backyard in Newberg. Minister Lana Perry officiated.
   The afternoon event was attended by about 70 family members and friends. Music and video were provided by John Lehman. The picnic reception was casual, with hay bale seating and Mickey and Minnie Mouse accents. It was catered by GeorgeAnn Haney.
   The bride was given away by her father, Don David. She wore an ivory gown and carried a mixture of fresh flowers in her bouquet.
   Maid of honor was the daughter of the bride, Stephanie Marie of Portland. Bridesmaids were Alisa Sam of Vancouver, Wash., and Susan Lehman of Portland. They wore cocktail dresses and carried fresh, mixed flower bouquets.
   The best man was Scott Norfolk of Beaverton. Groomsman was Gary Ross of Beaverton.
   The flowergirl and ringbearer was Stephanie Marie of Portland.
   The bride is the daughter of Don and LaDene David of Las Vegas. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and raised in Las Vegas. She moved to Portland in 1980.
   The groom is the son of Ed Holboke of Beaverton. He was born and raised in Beaverton.
   The couple have made their home in Newberg.

Steele

   Angela Steele and Jason Bourne were married Aug. 26, 2006, at the Newberg Church of Christ. Pastor Kevin Kopsa officiated.
   Friends and family members attended the afternoon wedding. The bride was given away by Audie and Alice Cooper and Robert and Tracie Steele.
   The bride is the daughter of Audie and Alice Cooper and Tracie and Robert Steele, all of Newberg.
   The groom is the son of Kimberly and Cecil Bourne of Sherwood.

Brooks
   Casandra Witcraft and Joe Brooks were married Aug 12, 2006, at Silver Falls Vineyard.
   The vineyard was decorated with white callia lilies and pink Oriental lilies.
   Maid of honor was Staci Witcraft, the bride’s sister.  Bridesmaids were Megan Murr, Alyssa Witcraft, Desiree Phillips and Tamara Ross. Junior bridesmaids were Jessie and Brandi Archibald.
   The best man was Christopher Brooks, the groom’s brother. Groomsmen were Ryan Ross, Jeff Lydell and Jason Black.
   Parents of the bride are Chris and Cindy Witcraft of Newberg and Vicki and David Archibald of Newberg. Parents of the groom are David and Claire Brooks of Corbett and Kym and Chris Brewster of Newberg.
   The bride and groom are 2002 graduates of Newberg High School. The bride is a 2006 graduate of Portland State University with a degree in social science, and plans to teach elementary education. The groom expects to graduate from PSU in December with a degree in business management. He is employed at Ferguson Wellman Capital Management as an assistant trader.
   The couple honeymooned at Disney World in Florida and reside in Tigard.

Sept. 20, 2006
Ayala

   Heather Reilly and Adolfo Ayala of South Bend, Ind., were married Aug. 12 at Northside Community Church in Newberg. Pastor Shaun McNay officiated.
   More than 90 friends and family members attended the afternoon wedding. A reception was held on the church lawn. Pianists included Raleigh McVicker and Shawn Lutz.
   The bride was given away by her father and mother, Dennis and Denise Reilly. She wore a strapless, embroidered and beaded dress with a 5-foot train and carried a bouquet of two dozen white roses.
   Maids of honor were Michelle Reilly of The Dalles and Sharon Olmstead of Forest Grove. Birdesmaids were Ana Ayala of Fayetteville, Ark.; Sharon Brazolivich of Boston; and Christie Rosenbaum of San Jose, Calif. They wore plum-colored dresses and carried mixed bouquets of purple, white and yellow flowers.
   Best man was Alejandro Ayala of Florida. Groomsmen were Javier Macias, Andres Meza, Manuel Macias and Michael Berumen.
   Flowergirl was Abby Hendricks. The candlelighter was Michelle Ayala.
   The bride graduated from Newberg High School and Azusa Pacific University. She is a doctoral student at the University of Notre Dame.
   The groom is the son of Adolfo and Marisa Ayala of Boca Raton, Fla. He is a graduate of Southside High School in Fort Smith, Ark., and the University of Arkansas. He is also a doctoral student at Notre Dame.
   The couple honeymooned on the Oregon Coast and have made their home in South Bend, Ind.

Oxley

   Jamie-Lynn Oxley and Michael Rowan of McMinnville were married June 17, 2006, at the McMinnville Community Center. Pastor Lynn Wagner officiated.
   More than 200 friends and family attended the afternoon wedding, which was decorated with lavender and white roses. The wedding party walked down the aisle to “Forever and Ever Amen” by Randy Travis and the bride walked down the aisle to “Butterfly Kisses.” Receptions were held at McMinnville Community Center and Bushwhackers Country Bar.
   The bride was given away by her father, Clark Granger. She wore a sequined bodice dress with a long, ruffled train. The back of the dress opened in a diamond shape and pearls cascaded down. She also wore a princess-style tiara adorned with pearls and carried a bouquet of lavender and white roses.
   Maid of honor was Jessica Granger of McMinnville. Bridesmaids were Chantil Bach of Portland and Katie Belle of McMinnville. Bridesmaids wore long floral-print dresses and carried lavender and white roses.
   Best man was Terry Timeus of Tualatin. Groomsmen were Tom Tolkstead of Gresham and Kevin Cooley of McMinnville.
Flowergirl was Emily Jones. Ringbearer was Alexander Bach. Candlelighters were Kyra Borden and Ashley Stevens.
   The bride is the daughter of Tonya and Clark Granger of McMinnville and Robert Gonzalez of Branson, Mo. She is a 2002 graduate of McMinnville High School and is employed at McMenamins Hotel Oregon.
   The groom is the son of Debbie and Mel Romias of North Bend. He is a graduate of North Bend High School and is employed at Ridgeway Supply.
   The couple honeymooned at an equestrian ranch in Washington and have made their home in McMinnville.

Bauer
   Newberg natives Tamara Hooker and Jeffrey Bauer were married June 11, 2006, at Newberg Christian Church. Pastor John Turner officiated.
   Family and friends attended the afternoon ceremony. The reception, held at the Chehalem Armory Center, was decorated with ivory and lavender candles and flower bouquets on every table.
   The bride was given away by her father, Larry Hooker. She wore an ivory, two-piece halter, satin gown with hand beading on the dress and train and a shoulder-length ivory veil edged with pearls. She carried ivory and lavender roses.
   Groomsmen were the children of the bride and groom: Casey Hooker of Petaluma, Calif.; Brett and Jakob Hooker of Newberg; and Bradley Bauer of Newberg.
Nathan Bauer is also the groom’s son.
   Flower girl was Olivia Hooker of Gladstone. Ringbearer was Jonah Queensbury of Lake Oswego. Ushers were Todd and Dustin Hooker.
   The bride is the daughter of Larry Hooker of Newberg and Sharon Hooker of Klamath Falls. She is employed at Newberg Park and Mini Storage.
   The groom is the son of Dave and Pat Bauer of Rockaway. He is employed as a contractor.
   The couple are planning to honeymoon with their children this fall.

Aug. 30, 2006
Turpen

   Katy Schnitker and Kyle Turpen of Newberg were married July 9 at Aramenta Cellars in Newberg. Pastor Steve Halajian officiated.
   More than 400 friends and family attended the afternoon wedding. Held outside, tables were decorated with Gerber daisies in orange, pink, yellow and purple. Heidi and Tasia Thomason sang “The Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. The Tualatin Valley Pipes and Drums bagpipe band also performed. The reception was also held at the winery.
   The bride was given away by her father, Michael Schnitker. She wore a strapless, beaded bodice dress with a sheer fabric skirt over a satin skirt designed by Atelier Diagonal. The veil was one-layer and mid-length and was made by the mother of the bride. Beads and pearls were randomly scattered around the veil and it was edged with cream satin ribbon. The bouquet was a mixture of Gerber daisies, hydrangeas and roses.
   Maid of honor was Erin Friedrichsen of Burns. Bridesmaids were Joy Herzog of Minneapolis, Minn.; Karin Klinger of Waco, Texas; Kristina Findley of Beaverton; Andrea Crenshaw of Sherwood; and Shannon Dunn of McMinnville. Bridesmaids wore fiesta orange with white top, mid-length dresses from David’s Bridal and carried Gerber daisies.
   Best man was Matt Turpen of Newberg. Groomsmen were Alex Haven of Newberg, Jeff Campbell of Tigard, Dennis Lemen of Newberg and Justin Schnitker and Chet Hill of Burns.
   Flowergirls were Moriah and Morgan Lemen.
   The bride is the daughter of Michael and Donna Schnitker of Burns. She graduated from George Fox University in 2001 with a degree in psychology and a Spanish minor and in 2002 with a masters degree in teaching. She is employed at the McMinnville School District.
   The groom is the son of Harold and Judy Turpen of Newberg. He graduated from the College of the Siskyous in 1995 and the National Fire Academy in 2005. He is employed at the Saunders Company.
   The couple honeymooned in Sunriver and have made their home in Newberg. They met on New Year’s Eve.

McGanty
   Stephanie Blanchard and Christopher McGanty of Newberg were married Aug. 25 at the Newberg First Baptist Church.
   The bride is the daughter of Julie Larsen of Dundee and Delbert Blanchard of Tualatin. She attends Concord Career Institute.
   The groom is the son of Paula and Timothy McGanty of Newberg. He is a 2002 graduate of Newberg High School.
   The couple met at the Friendsview Retirement Community where they both worked two years ago. They will make their home in Newberg.

Scharfenberger

   Emily Hoe of Newberg and Kris Scharfenberger Jr. of Forest Grove, were married June 3 at the McMenamin’s Grand Lodge in Forest Grove. Pastor Tom Struck presided.
   More than 150 guests attended the afternoon wedding. It was an outdoor ceremony with a bamboo canopy made with sheer, ivory tulle and tropical flowers made by the bride’s father and the groom. The reception was held in Delia’s Garden at the McMenamin’s Grand Lodge and was decorated in an Asian theme with white Chinese paper lanterns and lucky bamboo.
   The bride was given away by her father, Tham Vo. She wore an ivory, strapless gown with champagne colored lace on the bodice and hem. The ivory veil included a Swarovski crystal tiara. Deep red orchids and calla lilies made up the bouquet.
   Matron of honor was Sarah Dennis of Dundee. Bridesmaids were Courtney Dicus of Columbia, S.C.; and Alicia Scharfenberger of Radcliff, Ky. They wore apple red, floor-length, organza dresses.
   Best man was Michael Scharfenberger of Radcliff. Groomsmen were Victor Bala of Hillsboro and Dennis Turner of Aloha.
   Flowergirls were Julia, Valerie and Olivia Ranum. Ringbearer was Mason Bala.
   The bride is the daughter of Tham and Sharon Vo of Newberg. She is a 2001 graduate of Newberg High School and in 2005 she graduated Western Oregon University in Monmouth with a bachelor of science in business degree. She is employed at A-dec Inc. as an employment recruiter.
   The groom is the son of Kris and Iona Scharfenberger of Radcliff. He is a 1998 graduate of North Hardin High School in Radcliff, and he graduated ITT Technical Institute in Louisville, Ky., in 2001 with an associates of applied science degree in electrical engineering. He is employed at Intel as a manufacturing technician.
   The couple honeymooned on the island of Moorea, Tahiti.
   They have made their home in Newberg.

Henny
   Kristen Wasson of Newberg and Eric Henny of Gervais were married June 17 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gervais. Fathers Vincent, Taft and Piermon, as well as Abbot Peter and Deacon Phillips, presided.
   More than 275 family members and friends attended the early afternoon wedding, which was decorated with white roses, blue larkspur and white gladiolas. The reception was held at the church and decorated with navy tablecloths and bowls of ivy and floating candles.
   The bride was given away by her uncle, Blair Wasson. She wore a white satin A-line dress with long train, iridescent beaded lace trim on bodice and iridescent beaded lace panels in the skirt and train which was French bustled during the reception. She carried a round bouquet with 12 white roses and baby’s breath tied with navy organdy ribbon. The veil was satin edged with bead and sequin embroidered vines and blossoms, and a bead and cloisonne flowered tiara comb.
   Maid-of-honor was Alyssa Wasson of Newberg. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Watkins of Newberg and Helen Henny of Florida. They carried two long-stemmed white roses tied with navy organdy ribbon.
   Best man was Andy Steinkamp of Oregon. Groomsmen were Mike Jirges of Oregon and Frank Prantl of Gervais.
Flowergirl was Makenzie Talbot. Ringbearer was Gavin Henny.
   The bride is the daughter of the late Craig Wasson and Elizabeth Wasson of Newberg. She graduated with two degrees from Linn-Benton Community College and works in Salem.
   The groom is the son of Marc and Bonnie Henny of Gervais. He graduated from Oregon State University and works in Salem.
   The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas and will make their home in Independence.
   They met in college.

Burnett

   Amy Biglin of Newberg and Andy Burnett of Lafayette were married Dec. 17, 2005, at the Newberg Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Ed Nichols presided.
   More than 250 friends and family members attended the afternoon ceremony that featured a Christmas theme. Music was provided by Jeff Biglin and Hugh Traver.
   The bride was given away by her parents. She wore a white dress embroidered with leaves and beads and a matching jacket made by Teresa Kratzer of Lafayette. She wore a snowflake crown and a bouquet made by the groom.
   Maid of honor was Dindi Lane of Half Moon Bay, Calif. She wore a dark olive green gown. Bridesmaid was Katie Burnett of Hillsboro. She wore a burgundy gown.
   Best man was Brian Wetzel of Canby. Groomsman was Kyle Kratzer of Lafayette.
   Candlelighters were Sher Biglin and Teresa Kratzer. Flowergirls were Anika Nelson and Lilly Wetzel. Ringbearer was Carson Herrick.
   The bride is the daughter of Jeff and Sher Biglin of Newberg. She is a Newberg High School graduate and works for Dr. Benedetti.
   The groom is the son of Joey Burnett of Gladstone and Teresa Kratzer of Lafayette. He is a graduate of Gladstone High School and is employed at Eagle Industries.
   The couple honeymooned for a week at a cabin in the mountains and will make their home in Sheridan. They met through mutual friends.

Scholz

   Elaine Herring and Aaron Scholz, both of Tualatin, were married Jan. 14, 2006, at Nottingham’s of Sherwood. The Rev. Scott Awbrey presided.
   More than 100 friends and family members attended the Hawaiian-themed ceremony and reception. Music was provided by harpist Kathryn Cater, flutist Sandy Norman and soloist Maris Snell.
   The bride was given away by her father, Greg Herring. She wore a white strapless dress trimmed in periwinkle and carried white roses with periwinkle accents. Her veil was sheer white and also trimmed with periwinkle.
   Maid-of-honor was Jennifer Herring. Bridesmaids were Katie Newland, Jessica Baggenstos and Kara Dokus. Junior bridesmaid was Kaydia Scholz. They wore periwinkle halter dresses and carried dark pink roses.
   Best man was Michael Conrad. Groomsmen were Joel Taylor, Peter Picard and Mike Snell.
   Candlelighters were Sue Herring and Vicky Scholz. Flower girl was Madison Dokus.
   The bride is the daughter of Greg and Sue Herring of Newberg. She graduated from Newberg High School in 1999.
   The groom is the son of John Scholz of Newberg and Vicky Scholz of Sandy. He graduated from NHS in 1998.
The couple honeymooned on a cruise to Hawaii and will make their home in Tualatin.

Schiele

   Julie Durand and Jason Schiele, both of West Linn, were married at sunset on March 2 on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. A reception will be held at a later date.
   The bride and groom released white doves to seal their vows.
   Matron of honor was KC King of Aurora.
   Best man was Karl Wagner of Bend.
   The bride is the daughter of John and Terri Hartzell of Moses Lake, Wash. She graduated from Rex Putnam High School in Milwaukie in 1990 and is employed as an administrator for the Oregon Fryer Commission.
   The groom is the son of George and Rebecca Schiele of Newberg. He graduated from Newberg High School in 1990 and is the owner of Bobcat Welding and Fabrication.
   The couple honeymooned at the Turtle Bay Resort on the north shore of Oahu and will make their home in West Linn.

   The bride is the daughter of Sharon Remmen of Newberg. She is employed at Reser’s Fine Foods.
   The groom is the son of Judy Miller of Eugene. He is employed at Newberg Dodge.
   The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas and will make their home in Newberg.

McLaughlin

   Karli Senecaut of Newberg and Sandy McLaughlin of Vancouver, Wash., were married in an outdoor ceremony Aug. 20, 2005, at His Hiding Place near Lafayette. Pastor Tom Valencia presided.
   More than 200 friends and family members attended the afternoon ceremony held under an arbor with rose petals sprinkled in the aisle. Decorations included the natural, outdoor setting with willow trees, ferns, hydrangeas, a rose garden and ponds. The reception, held at His Hiding Place, was decorated with white linen tablecloths and roses in glass bowls. It included a buffet lunch served by Lynn O’Halloran, Debbie Cook and Jody Wright. Becca Babbitt provided the music.
   The bride was given away by her mother and father, Brad and Kathi Senecaut. She wore a long, white, strapless, satin dress and carried pink and white roses. Her fingertip veil was hemmed with white satin.
   Maid-of-honor was Kristi Senecaut of Newberg. Bridesmaids were Katelyn Senecaut of Newberg and Olivia Tanksley of Hillsboro. They wore pearl pink, street-length dresses and each carried three long-stemmed roses.
   Best man was Josh Dunlap or Lewiston, Idaho. Groomsmen were Rick McLaughlin of Vancouver, Wash., Alan McLaughlin Jr. of Lewiston and Brad Senecaut Jr. of Newberg.
   The flowergirl was Madysin Senecaut. Ringbearer was Seth Colpitts.
   The bride is the daughter of Brad and Kathi Senecaut of Newberg.
   The groom is the son of Darla and Alan McLaughlin of Lewiston.
   The couple honeymooned in Lincoln City.
