Advocates urge state leaders to make CPR a graduation requirement

A bill before the Oregon Senate would require that high school students receive training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Testimony on the legislation, Senate Bill 275, was heard last week by the Senate Education and Workforce Development Committee.

An entry in the Yamhill County Jail reports for Feb. 20 was in error. Michael Don Olesen, 25, of Newberg, was arrested Feb. 7 for second-degree theft, then re-arrested March 11 on the same charge and sentenced.

Child abuser convicted, gets 31 years in prison

McMINNVILLE — A Dundee man accused of molesting two underage girls pleaded guilty to several Measure 11 crimes in Yamhill County court earlier this month and has been sentenced to more than 31 years in prison.
