Police nab inattentive drivers during sting operation

The Newberg-Dundee Police Department published in advance its intention to conduct a pedestrian enforcement operation, they parked marked police cars near crosswalks on First Street, they set up a video camera, they placed signs 160 feet ahead to warn drivers, two uniformed officers were watching the crosswalk, and the decoy was wearing light-colored clothes.

Missing Newberg man found in motel

A Newberg man who hadn’t been seen for two weeks and had left a note stating that he was “going off to die,” as well as an open bag of food for his dog, was found unharmed at the Town and Country motel on Wednesday.

Bicyclist injured in Highway 219 crash

A 54-year-old woman was hit while riding her bicycle on Highway 219 at the intersection with Champoeg Road Saturday afternoon.
Ellen Raim, of southwest Portland, was riding west on a black and white Trek road bike on Champoeg Road when she attempted to cross Highway 219.
