To the editor:   I was somewhat dismayed to read the Feb. 24 editorial headlined, “Is there a conflict of interest here?”, suggesting that Newberg City Councilor Denise Bacon might have a conflict of interest that could compromise the working relationship with the Yamhill County Commissioners.

   To the editor:   I was reading the guest opinion in the paper the other day, the one that said “Newberg: People are different here.”   My husband and I live in Newberg and our daughter and her family live in Dundee.

   To the editor:   It was very disturbing to read the article in the McMinnville News-Register about Waste Management’s plan to pilot a plasma art gasification plant in Arlington.

   To the editor:   Over the past couple of years the debate around the Riverbend Landfill has grown more and more heated.   It is widely agreed that the landfill plays a key role in our economy and that to this point Waste Management has been doing a decent job running the facility.
