   Blood needed
   The Church of the Nazarene will hold an American Red Cross blood drive from 2 to 7 p.m. June 2. An hour of your time and a pint of blood can help save several persons as blood can be separated into different components. Call 503-528-5892 to make an appointment.
   Festival choir to perform
   Newberg Christian Church will host festival choir performances during Sunday worship times at 9 and 10:45 a.m. NCC is located at 2315 Villa Road in Newberg. For more information, call Debbie Groat at 503-538-3104.
   Linfield slates Holden service
   McMINNVILLE - A traditional Holden worship service of prayer and reflection will be held at 8 tonight (Saturday) in 201 Riley Hall at Linfield College.
   The Holden Evening Prayer service tells the Christian story in a poetic fashion, using a series of musical responses between participants. This contemplative form of worship is enhanced with influences from the world of jazz music, including the swing and Latin styles of jazz.
   In cooperation with local churches, the college's Chaplain's Office will host services of prayer and reflection throughout the academic year. A variety of musical and liturgical styles will be offered including Holden evening prayer, Taiz‚, Celtic, Jazz and Blues, Gospel and Native American.

   NCC cafe concert series
   Newberg Christian Church invites the community to join in a time of fellowship during its Friday Night Cafe concert series. At 7 p.m. May 30, the group Lenon will perform original materials and covers of Beatles songs. Strawberry shortcake will be served.
   At 6:30 p.m. June 20 the Gil Reynolds Trio, a group of professional musicians from the Newberg area, will play jazz and contemporary pop music. Refreshments will be provided. NCC is located at the corner of Mountainview Drive and Villa Road.
   National Salvation Army week coming
   McMINNVILLE - The McMinnville Salvation Army Center will observe National Salvation Army Week with a flea market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (Saturday) at 1950 S.W. Second St. A tour of the facility will be available to those interested. For more information, call 1-503-472-1009.
